Basketball States Hoban vs Imhotep
Hoban's run through the state playoffs ended on Sunday, with a disheartening loss to Imhotep Charter. Although the Argents started out strong, Imhotep held on and used their home court advantage to wear down the Hoban lead. By the way, our research department has investigated this, and apparently "Imhotep" is a Swahili term for "Never miss a 3 pointer". Give credit where it is due, both teams seemed to elevate their games as the play continued, but Imhotep had an answer for all of Hoban's efforts. In the end, Bishop Hoban boy's basketball finishes its final season in the state quarterfinals, and while losing is always difficult to accept, fans should remember that there are hundreds of schools across the state that would have loved to get this far. The truth is, only one team will exit the tournament with a victory, and considering the quality of teams, the effort made, and the obstacles overcome, the Argents earned the right to hold their heads high. Another positive note- the Argent Nation, once given up for dead, must have responded to CPR before the game, as there were definitely signs of life from the stands. Plenty of pictures are posted of the fans, so 100 years from now, as you tell your great great grandchildren, "I was there for the very last BHS basketball game", many of you will actually have proof, provided, of course, that you buy a photo.....
